The Atelier — Returning Couture to the Wardrobe
Gallello Atelier is a private client couture house — a return to the art of dressing, when couture was commissioned for life and not simply for occasion.
Each piece is tailored entirely by hand, drawing on the inherited techniques of couturier patternmaker Dominic Gallello, who cut patterns for Monsieur Christian Dior in the 1950s. The Atelier curates a wardrobe of elegant pieces in noble fibres — each one commissioned for life, not for a single occasion.
The Isabella
Virgin Wool Silk | Piedmont, IT
Following the inherited couture tailoring techniques of Dominic Gallello, the Isabella Jacket is entirely constructed by hand with twelve hand-sewn panels to shape the bodice with precision.
—
Atelier Recommendation: Stacey suggests a lightweight Virgin Wool Silk in place of the Silk Cady. While pure silk is a significant investment, the addition of wool creates a more versatile piece — equally suited to day and evening — while retaining the subtle sheen and refined quality of silk.
Standard Sizing — 3,600
Made-to-Measure — 4,800
(Silk Cady, Made-to-Measure, 5,700)
Made-to-measure jackets are inclusive of a custom pattern cut by Master Pattern Cutter Antonella in Venice, developed entirely to the client's unique measurements and refined through two private fittings.
The Chiara
Virgin Wool Silk | Piedmont, IT
The Chiara pencil skirt completes the Atelier's signature skirt suit. It features an elongated silhoutte tailored to the ankle.
—
Bespoke Recommendation: Slight taper to the ankle for shape.
Standard Sizing — 2,000
Made-to-Measure — 2,450
The Sienna Shirt
Silk Cupro | Veneto, IT
Iconic details evolve through a strong shoulder, gently padded as an emblem to 1980 feminine savoir faire. The narrow feminine silhouette of the shirt meets details borrowed from the world of menswear with a cut away collar and elongated cuffs. The piece is finished with natural Mother of Pearl buttons. The hand-embroidered signet represents the heritage of the Atelier.
Standard Sizing — 1,650
Made-to-Measure — 2,200
The Wardrobe Commission
The Art of Dressing
Gallello Atelier works in wardrobe commissions — not individual pieces, but considered systems of dressing built to serve the life the client leads. For Sue, who moves between book meetings in New York and the moments in between in California, the Atelier recommends three beautifully made investment pieces that form the foundation of a versatile wardrobe — each one chosen to work together or apart, across every occasion.
—
The Three-Piece Wardrobe Commission
The Isabella Jacket and Chiara Skirt form the suit — sharp, considered, and entirely her own. The Sienna Shirt completes the look as a third element while standing entirely on its own — worn with the skirt as a softer alternative to the jacket, or independently as the house's most versatile piece. Three pieces. Endless expression. A wardrobe built for the life Sue leads.
The commission is offered at 8,950 — inclusive of all fittings, a saving of 500 against individual pricing.
The Commission Includes
— Custom pattern developed to unique measurements by Master Pattern Cutter Antonella, Venice
— Two private fittings across all three pieces
— Atelier Recommendation — lightweight Virgin Wool Silk in place of Silk Cady, offering versatility across day and evening while retaining a subtle sheen
— All pieces held in the client's personal Gallello Archive
Each piece is commissioned and tailored entirely to order. Lead time is four to six weeks from commission.

The Atelier believes that the hands behind the piece are as important as the piece itself. Each commission is an act of craft, carried by the artisan from the first cut to the final stitch.
With Gratitude
It would be a privilege to dress Mme Sue Epstein for her wardrobe. The Atelier looks forward to creating her suit.

Thank you for entrusting the house with this moment. It is one the Atelier will honour with complete devotion.

The Atelier
The Atelier is based between Venice and Milan, specialising in couture tailoring and the preservation of traditional craft. Every element is executed by hand — from artisanal tailoring to embroidery, beadwork and corsetry, with traditional boning techniques. Never machine-led construction.
Our Couturier Heritage
Dominic Gallello was couturier patternmaker to Monsieur Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent. His techniques, his devotion to craft, and the pieces he left as heirlooms to his granddaughter Stacey Gallello are the foundation of everything the Atelier creates today. The house exists to preserve that integrity — and to bring it forward.
