The Carolina
Couture Jacket
An enduring signature—where heritage tailoring meets the modern form.
-
A signature of the Atelier, the Carolina Jacket reflects our pursuit of heritage tailoring, where inherited craft is refined for the modern form. Hand-sculpted in noble Virgin Wool and Mohair from Piemonte, Italy—once prized as the ‘diamond fibre’ of nobility—it carries centuries of textile heritage.
The silhouette is defined by a nipped-in waist and distinctive split hem, creating a sculpted, close fit. Sixteen tiny, polished Genuine Buffalo Horn buttons are fastened from waist to neckline, a discreet gesture of craftsmanship that underscores its place as a permanent icon of the Atelier.
Twenty Buttons in Buffalo Horn
The Carolina is adorned with twenty genuine buffalo horn buttons — each one naturally unique, its grain and depth shaped by time. Hand-polished to a soft lustre, they carry a quiet elegance, treasured in couture for their rarity and enduring strength. More than a fastening, each button is a discreet jewel of nature’s craft.
In Pursuit of Exceptional Fibres
Guided by a pursuit of rarity, the Atelier turns to Italy’s heritage mills, where noble fibres are woven with timeless mastery.
From Generations of Hands, A Fabric Endures
Behind each fabric lies a tradition of weaving techniques refined over centuries—transforming noble fibres into materials that embody our mission to showcase and preserve traditional craft.
Meticulously fashioned from an ethically sourced Virgin Wool blended with Mohair. Known as a ‘diamond fibre’, once reserved only for nobility, the addition of Mohair from angora goats imparts a distinctive lustrous finish to the material.
Meet the Tailor, Lidia
Meet our Master Tailor, Lidia. Within the Atelier, she hand-tailors the Carolina Jacket with a devotion that can only come from inherited skill. Each stitch is placed with patience and precision, transforming noble cloth into a sculpted silhouette. In her hands, tradition becomes form — a garment crafted not for a season, but for permanence.
