The Atelier

Gallello Atelier is a private client couture house — a return to the art of dressing, when couture was commissioned for life and not simply for occasion. Each piece is tailored entirely by hand, drawing on the inherited techniques of couturier patternmaker Dominic Gallello, who cut patterns for Monsieur Christian Dior in the 1950s. The Atelier creates elegant wardrobing pieces in noble fibres — the foundation of a woman's wardrobe.

The Atelier has prepared a personal selection of summer and seasonless pieces with her in mind — each tailored entirely to her measurements through a private virtual appointment conducted with complete discretion.

Building Her Wardrobe

Gallello Atelier is a private couture house devoted to the art of dressing. Each wardrobe is composed under the direction of the House — guided through silhouette, fabrication, and proportion, and refined through fitting. From the first commission, a complete record of the client's measurements, her silhouette, and her preferences is held in the Atelier archives — a foundation from which every subsequent piece is made. The following selection marks the beginning of that wardrobe.

Valentina Jacket & Gina Miniskirt

The Atelier has selected the Valentina Jacket as the working wardrobe's tailored anchor — handcrafted in Virgin Wool and Silk from Veneto by Keti, its single-breast fit and rounded collar giving it the quiet authority a public-facing business demands. Four flap pockets and tonal covered buttons complete a silhouette that is precise without being severe. Paired with the Gina Miniskirt — the Atelier's signature skirt suit proportion — the combination reads with equal confidence across the moments of a directed day.

Sienna Shirt

The Atelier proposes the Sienna Shirt as the wardrobe's essential point of ease — a silk shirt that sits beneath every jacket in the selection and carries the wardrobe through its quieter moments. Proposed in white, it is the piece that allows everything worn above and below it to breathe. For a woman who dresses by eye rather than by label, this is the foundation that makes every other piece work harder.

Isabella Jacket & Giulia Skirt

The Isabella Jacket in Obsidian Silk Taffeta from Milan — handcrafted by Lidia — is proposed here against a white Giulia Skirt, the contrast between the two deliberate and assured. The Taffeta has a surface depth that responds to light in a way that no other fabric in the selection does — present in one moment, receding in another. A pairing that carries the working day into its later hours without adjustment.

For the occasions she chooses — the private view, the dinner, the cultural moment, the room that takes note of what enters it.

Sylvie Blouse & Camille Skirt

The Atelier has selected the Sylvie Blouse — a hand-pleated bodice in Silk Georgette from Lombardia, tailored by Natalia — as the opening piece of the evening selection. The pleating is structural rather than decorative, holding its form through the occasion without concession. Paired with the Camille Skirt in Slow Silk from Piedmont — hand-sewn godets opening into a fluted hem, tailored by Armine — the combination moves between the private view and the dinner table with complete ease. For a woman who loves art, this is a pairing that behaves like one.

Annabella Jacket & Gina Miniskirt

The Atelier has selected the Annabella Jacket in Cotton Silk Sateen from Veneto — handcrafted by Lidia, its structured construction finished in a fabric that sits between the formality of Taffeta and the fluidity of Cady. The 18ct Gold Stud detail on the Gina Miniskirt echoes the fine jewellery language that runs through the black selection — a quiet but precise reference to the level of attention the Atelier brings to every detail. Together the two pieces carry the wardrobe into its more considered evening register.

Carolina Jacket & Chiara Skirt

The Carolina Jacket is proposed in rich black Velvet from Lombardia, handcrafted by Lidia, and finished with a row of polished silver hooks that run the length of the front — a construction detail that is both functional and architectural. Paired with the Chiara Skirt in Silk Taffeta from Como, handcrafted by Armine, the pairing places two of the most considered textures in the collection in deliberate opposition. The velvet holds; the taffeta moves. A combination of exceptional distinction.

Anaïs Gown

The Atelier has selected the Anaïs Gown as the closing piece of the entire selection — and its clearest statement of what the house believes couture to be. Hand-sewn by Armine in Slow Cady from Veneto, the bodice is formed entirely by hand, Silk Chiffon gathered and placed individually to the body, secured with strands of Akoya Pearls that cascade into a full yet weightless train. A hidden corset structure shapes and supports from within. The marriage of fine jewellery and couture in a single, considered form.

Sienna Shirt & Giulia Skirt

The Atelier proposes the Sienna Shirt worn with the Giulia Skirt as the selection's most fluid evening proposition — silk against silk, each piece moving independently of the other. Proposed here as seen in the Paris couture shoot, the combination carries a cinematic authority that suits a woman whose eye is drawn to the considered image as much as the considered garment.

Gemma Midi Dres

The Atelier has selected the Gemma Dress in Silk from Veneto, handcrafted by Francesca, for the occasion that asks for a single piece rather than a composed ensemble. Its opera bow is the construction detail that defines it — a gesture at once formal and entirely personal. A dress that carries the evening without effort.

Bella Jacket & Fiorella Skirt

The Atelier has selected the Fiorella Skirt — over 20 hours of hand-sewn detail in layers of Silk Chiffon from Veneto, each gusset placed individually by Lidia — as the evening selection's most extraordinary foundation. Worn with the Bella Jacket in Silk Cady from Veneto, handcrafted by Lidia, and finished with Stella Buttons crafted from 18ct yellow Gold set with 5.5ct white Diamonds, the combination is the Atelier's fullest expression of what it means to marry fine jewellery with couture construction. For a woman who invests in art and experiences, this is both.

Sofia Jacket & Giulia Skirt

The Sofia Jacket has a sculpted waist and revealing neckline as the Ivory version. Paired with the Giulia Skirt in Obsidian Silk Satin from Como, handcrafted by Armine, the combination belongs entirely to the evening.

S. Gallello

The Atelier is based between Venice and Milan, specialising in couture tailoring and the preservation of traditional craft. Every element is executed by hand — from artisanal tailoring to embroidery, beadwork and corsetry, with traditional boning techniques. Never machine-led construction.

Dominic Gallello was couturier patternmaker to Monsieur Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent. His techniques, his devotion to craft, and the pieces he left as heirlooms to his granddaughter Stacey Gallello are the foundation of everything the Atelier creates today. The house exists to preserve that integrity — and to bring it forward.
