The Atelier

Gallello Atelier is a private client couture house — a return to the art of dressing, when couture was commissioned for life and not simply for occasion. Each piece is tailored entirely by hand, drawing on the inherited techniques of couturier patternmaker Dominic Gallello, who cut patterns for Monsieur Christian Dior in the 1950s. The Atelier creates elegant wardrobing pieces in noble fibres — the foundation of a woman's wardrobe.

Building Her Wardrobe

The Atelier approaches every new client with the same consideration — a complete record of her measurements, her silhouette, her preferences, and the pieces commissioned with the house, held in the Atelier archives from the first commission forward. The following selection marks the beginning of that wardrobe.

The Atelier has selected the Clémence for its singular intelligence of construction — a Silk Crêpe de Chine set from Lombardia, cut to be worn together or apart, and therefore suited to more than one occasion.

The Elise is proposed as the wardrobe's tailored anchor — a hand-gathered waist worked entirely in Slow Silk from Piedmont, shaped and held by Lidia.

The Valentina Jacket

Featuring the Atelier's new Slow Silk from Piedmont, the Veronique is a study in proportion — a clean line that frame the silhouette without ornamentation. The Valentina, a signature of the house, cut with four flap pockets.

The Veronique Suit

The Véronique is proposed for its architectural restraint — a curved hem and stand collar tailored by Lidia in Slow Silk from Piedmont. It photographs with the same authority it carries in person, which makes it particularly well-suited to a public-facing wardrobe.

We recommend tailoring this as an elongated pencil skirt.

Isabella Jacket & Antonella Skirt

The Isabella Jacket and Antonella Skirt in Cotton Silk is proposed as the warm-weather foundation — a clean architectural silhouette in a fabric that asks less of the body without conceding any precision of line.

Couture Jacket Hand-Tailored by Lidia

Flavia Swing Coat

The Flavia is proposed as the season's outermost statement — a hand-tailored swing coat in Virgin Wool Crêpe from Lombardia, in petal pink.

Valentina Jacket & Chiara Skirt

In Cotton Silk Cashmere, the Valentina Jacket and Chiara Skirt takes on a softer register — the same precise silhouette as the wool, but suited to the transitional seasons. A combination the Atelier proposes for its versatility: the jacket worn alone, the skirt anchoring a lighter blouse.

Isabella Jacket & Antonella Skirt

The Isabella Jacket in Virgin Wool Mohair is hand-tailored with the same attention as every piece in the Atelier's seasonless offering, it is proposed as a cornerstone to be worn across seasons.

Alicia Trousers

The Alicia Trousers are proposed as the wardrobe's essential — a wide, precise leg finished with genuine Buffalo Horn buttons, hand-tailored in Silk Cady from Lombardia. The kind of trouser that makes everything worn above it more considered.

S. Gallello

The Atelier is based between Venice and Milan, specialising in couture tailoring and the preservation of traditional craft. Every element is executed by hand — from artisanal tailoring to embroidery, beadwork and corsetry, with traditional boning techniques. Never machine-led construction.

Dominic Gallello was couturier patternmaker to Monsieur Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent. His techniques, his devotion to craft, and the pieces he left as heirlooms to his granddaughter Stacey Gallello are the foundation of everything the Atelier creates today. The house exists to preserve that integrity — and to bring it forward.
