The Atelier

Gallello Atelier is a private client couture house — a return to the art of dressing, when couture was commissioned for life and not simply for occasion. Each piece is tailored entirely by hand, drawing on the inherited techniques of couturier patternmaker Dominic Gallello, who cut patterns for Monsieur Christian Dior in the 1950s. The Atelier creates elegant wardrobing pieces in noble fibres — the foundation of a woman's wardrobe.

The Atelier's story begins in Veneto — couture tailoring crafted between Venice and Milan. The Atelier's story begins in Veneto — couture tailoring crafted between Venice and Milan.

The Art of Dressing

The Bespoke Commission

The Atelier is commissioned to create a custom corset with detailed hand boning, covered entirely in French lace — the curved hemline to follow the ivory reference provided, with lace and boning detailing inspired by the dark grey vintage piece. To be paired with a column skirt and bustle in custom heavy Silk Satin, shaped and finished entirely by hand to Mme Yasmina Khashoggi's measurements. The corset alone represents some of the most labour-intensive work the house undertakes — each bone channelled, placed and covered by a single artisan, a process that cannot be rushed and is singular in form.

— Custom Heavy Silk Satin, commissioned in a bespoke ivory hue to the Atelier's specification

— Custom French lace in matching ivory, hand-applied and fully lined in heavy Silk Satin

— Custom corset engineered and shaped entirely to the client's form by the Atelier's corsetière

— Column skirt and bustle constructed in the same custom Silk Satin, finished entirely by hand

— Toile fitting — the corset is first constructed in a working toile and fitted to the client's body before the final fabric is cut

— Final fitting — the completed piece is refined and approved in person before delivery

— Satin embroidered garment bag personalised with details such as married name and wedding date

The Atelier

The Atelier is based between Venice and Milan, specialising in couture tailoring and the preservation of traditional craft. Every element is executed by hand — from artisanal tailoring to embroidery, beadwork and corsetry, with traditional boning techniques. Never machine-led construction.

Our Couturier Heritage

Dominic Gallello was couturier patternmaker to Monsieur Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent. His techniques, his devotion to craft, and the pieces he left as heirlooms to his granddaughter Stacey Gallello are the foundation of everything the Atelier creates today. The house exists to preserve that integrity — and to bring it forward.
